Clear skies and warm breezes characterized our
Fourth Annual All Fore Animals Golf Classic held at
Cypress Creek Golf Club on Friday, September
14, 2007!

More than 150 people were on hand throughout the day to golf and enjoy the event's festivities. The all-day tournament was packed with a variety of activities including a Fat Cat seafood dinner buffet, silent auction, 10-prize raffle, golfing contests, and visits on the greens from SPCA pups. Top silent auction prizes included two private boat outings with a personal chef, an EZ-Go Golf Cart donated by Virginia Golf Cars & Batteries, and several high-end golf clubs. Hole-in-one prizes included $10,000 cash and a Mercedes Benz!

Golfers enjoyed fun ways to improve their scores including mulligans, a foot wedge and if all else failed, a hand toss! Top team honors went to Allen Tanner, Jonathan Heath, Bob Burch, and Skeeter Heath. Second place went to Cary Fuselier, Wayne Morrison, Eddie Freeman and Nelson Betts. Third place went to Don Blankinship, Burt Kelly, Bobby Pell, and Donald Davis.

Over $27,500 was raised to benefit the 10,000 animals that are sheltered by the Peninsula SPCA each year. "We were thrilled to have so many of our community members sponsoring and joining us for this special day," says Meredith Hines, Board Member of the Peninsula SPCA. "The funds raised will help us pay for our recently established veterinary clinic at the Peninsula SPCA and further our Mission to find good homes for the Peninsula's forgotten pets." Of all the wonderful aspects of the day, however, one victory stood out above all others. Two dogs who had been together since birth were adopted together by a loving family. To the staff and volunteers who worked so hard for this event, that was the perfect ending to a perfect day.
