Volunteers play a vital role in our shelter's success! There are many
different ways that you can help, including volunteering at the SPCA,
at home, or at off-site events.

Congratulations to Cindy Wikerson,
Volunteer of the Month!
"I enjoy volunteering at the Peninsula SPCA
because I strongly believe how important it is that all animals deserve good homes. It is especially important to take care of the animals our society already has. Animals bring such joy to our lives,
they deserve the same.
My husband and I adopted our dog Abby, whom we had for almost 10 years, from a shelter in Charleston, SC and she was the best dog ever.
She will be forever in our hearts. Because of her
amazing impact on our lives, I wanted to give back to the system who brought her to us.
For those of us who love animals, I believe it is our obligation to do all that we can to take care of them and offer them the best lives possible.
Download and return the volunteer application to Ellen Leckar. All new volunteers will be required to register for orientation, please view orientation dates. From there,
Ellen will get to know you and help you to match your interests and abilities
to one of our volunteer teams.

All volunteers must be 16 years of age or older to work at the SPCA.
Volunteers are asked to pay a $15 fee to help us offset the cost of volunteer
shirts, nametags, and training. Volunteers must be able to commit at least
8 hours per month for 6 months. We encourage volunteers to have an up-to-date
tetanus vaccination, although it is not required.
